Something simple as I get ready to celebrate a weekend with my dear camp friends - who have known me for nearly 30 years now... What a gift. I am so very blessed.
Ah, how good it feels! The hand of an old friend.

just some thoughts all about the ways in which life continues to surprise me. in BIG ways and in small ways as well. reflections that remind me that we're always changing and growing...hopefully for the better! and perhaps it's also a reminder that there are some very sweet things, special people, wonderful places, and memorable moments in all of our lives...sometimes we just need to slow down to take it all in. and give thanks.
So I've been talking about signing up for a farmshare delivery for oh, well, approximately a year now. Guess something's gotten into me in these late lazy days of summer because I've been all about follow-through (with most things...wouldn't want to shock my system and do everything on my "to do" list!). Anyway, Amy (HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU, by the way!) turned me on to Farmhouse Delivery here in Austin. I know I can buy organic...and I could try to make it to the weekly Farmers Markets...but something about this feels different (oh, and it isn't a bad deal that it's all delivered to my door twice a month - woot!). And good. And local. And healthy. And connected to my community of Austin. And all of that good stuff.
It's August 1 which only means one thing to me...SMILE DAY!
