Last night I turned on the television (confession: I was thinking I might catch the end of the sappy season finale of Grey's Anatomy...which I haven't see in months...but I was in the mood for something like that?!) and I happened upon Michael J. Fox's special Adventures of an Incurable Optimist. It was a treat.
When I turned it on, he was in Bhutan and I was struck by a conversation that was happening. He was talking with some people about optimism and their community and they were describing how they support one another. And I happened to hear a line that made so much sense to me...thus, my quotation for the day.
(In Bhutan), our word for "help" means "to be a friend".
